MY STORY

by Margaret Boggio

I am with the angels now, but “Oh” my time on earth!  Let me tell you about what happened...

I was a 5 lb. 2-year-old Min-Pin mutt when I tried to run into the house, and the door smashed my pelvic bone. Even though my owner loved me, he could not afford to take me to the Vet Doctor.
“Oh, the PAIN!” He didn’t want to part with me, but after 3 weeks and no money to get my leg fixed, he had no choice.
He left me on the stoop at the shelter on a cold November night hoping they would take care of me. I almost froze to death before the shelter people came in and found me the next morning.

Hearing about my story, these two people sponsored the cost of my much-

needed surgery - THANK GOD! They heard what happened to me and they
had enough money to get me the operation that I needed to stop the pain

and help me walk normal. After two operations to fix my bones and re-align my leg nerve, the pain went away and I began to walk again — Whew! Got that monkey off my back, thanks to these two caring humans.

Now remember, I lost my home during this mess. So, while all of this was going on, the two people that paid for my surgeries came to love me and I fell in love with them. “Jackpot!” They adopted me and became my parents for the rest of my life.
I had what all of us need...a home, food, a family and the greatest of all - LOVE! I felt like the luckiest dog on earth. The funny thing was, I heard them talking all the time about how lucky they were to have ME. I hate to brag, but I think I am the reason they started this Foundation thing. By the way, these two people who saved me and became my parents are Dennis Boggio and Teri Gowen.
